Birthday!

•April 9, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Sooo yesterday was my birthday. Loot:

Bagel chips (can’t eat em), forty something dollars, Laguna Beach bootleg jeans, a promise of a laptop, a 3oh!3 shirt, The Black Parade, a box of Saltines, a billion two dollar bills, a balloon, and a cake.

Considering I didn’t die, almost die or step in something nasty, it was a pretty decent birthday. And plus, all the MuseBloggy buddies (The flamboyant Mr. B? My gosh, Robert, I didn’t know my feminine side made that much of an impression) gave me lots of warm and fuzzy feelings. Thanks, guys!

New Twilight Shirt :)

Taylor gave me a shirt that says “Emmet Cullen is a transvestite circus bear” for my birthday, which matches my pink “I killed Edward Cullen, deal with it”. Happy Beavo.

Word pet peeves.

•March 19, 2009 • 1 Comment

I’m sorry, pet peeve time.
Okay, so the word community. Has there ever been a word with less meaning? How can something be so generalized, and yet so overused? “Our school community”. What does that mean? The students? The teachers? Both? Does that include the janitors? What defines us as a community, and not just a school? “Help out in your community”. Your neighborhood? Your town? Just your family? People use the word community when they can’t think of another, more specific word but want to sound deep and make people feel included. There’s no thing wrong with that, except for the fact that it’s so fake. Another one is awarness. “How can you help? Make sure people are aware!” Most people are aware of the problem you’re talking about if you’re using that word. “Global Warming awarness”. Aside from the fact that I personally do not beleive it exists, everybody knows about it, right? How more AWARE can you get? It’s another way of sounding like you’re telling someone to do something when you’re just letting them do nothing.

Probably more later. And no using those words just to piss me off, please.

2009 Pres. Inauguration

Yes, I know I was against Obama’s campaign, but I’m still happy.

I think it’s a great that (even though this isn’t why I support him) we can have someone who’s not white be elected as our president. It’s corny, but we’re taking steps in the right direction.

He’s got people from the Clinton admin. in his cabinit, which is good. I still wish Hilary had won, but you never know. This could turn out good.

The inauguration itself was a bit weird, with the praying and Arethra Franklin trying to sing, but Obama’s speech wasn’t bad. And the lady who introduced people said that he was going to take the “oaf” of office and to listen to Yo-Yo-Ma’s “compitition”.

Anyway, the good thing about bad peices of music are that they’re short.

*random patriotic feelings* *not really*
